Barolo Ravera - 2019 - Barolo DOCG
Intense garnet-red colour.
Very elegant and refined, with hints of ripe red berries, compact well integrated tannins, and a vibrant acidity.
The nose, while stark to begin with, reveals complex floral notes that emerge after a few minutes in the glass. Striking notes include red fruit, chalk and white pepper.
Grapes were harvested by hand in October and after a gentle pressing, the juice fermented for around four to five weeks in a steel tank, in contact with the skins. Slow malolactic fermentation in barrels, finishing in late spring. Around 32 months of aging in large oak barrels.
