Alsace

Alsace

Alsace is located between Germany and France and has a cold continental climate. Due to a screen realized by Vosge mountains autumn here is longer, making it one of the most arid regions of France. Warm summers and dry autumns ensure perfect conditions for grapes to accumulate high sugar levels. The best known appellations are Alsace AC and Alsace Grand Cru AC, and the most important grapes are Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris and Muscat from which are made wines with different levels of residual sugar: from dry to sweet.
